A Somatic Journey for Soft Grounding + Creative Reconnection
Last week, I shared a somatic journey that helped me come back to myself—gently, honestly, and without pressure to “fix” anything. A few of you asked for the flow, so I’m sharing the outline here as a soft guide.
Arrival
Invite the body to land.
Feel the surface beneath you
Long, soft exhales
“There’s nothing you need to fix or perform.”
Emotional Clearing
“Where is the tightest sensation in my body right now?”
Let the feeling have space—shake, stretch, breathe with it.
Breath & Energy Reset
2-part breath: belly → chest → long exhale
Imagine light moving through your spine
Let what’s not yours fall away
Drop in Journey
For softening, releasing, and returning to what is truly yours
Let your body begin to soften
Let the day begin to fall away
Let your thoughts drift gently to the background
You don’t need to hold anything right now
You don’t need to carry anything right now
This space is for you
Just for you
Begin by taking a long, slow breath in through your nose
And a quiet, easy exhale through your mouth
Again
Even slower this time
Feel your body respond
Feel the subtle shift
Like a ripple of quiet moving through you
Now imagine warm water
not physical
but energetic
a soft light
pouring over your shoulders
down your spine
into your chest
and all the way through your belly and limbs
This light is warm
gentle
steady
It’s here to hold you
To cleanse what’s not yours
To help you lay it all down
Feel this light-water moving down your back
washing over all the places you’ve held tension
Let your shoulders melt
Let your neck soften
Let your jaw unclench
Let your eyes relax
Let this warmth reach your heart
and the places around your heart
where you’ve been holding too much
The stories
The roles
The pressure
The grief that isn’t even yours
Let it all begin to loosen
You don’t need to force it
Just allow it
Imagine this light seeping into your belly now
the place where so much is carried without words
Soften here
Let it unwind
Let the tightness melt away
Let the heaviness dissolve
You don’t need to hold
what isn’t yours to hold
You don’t need to carry
what was never meant to be yours
Let your breath keep flowing
Let the warm energy move down your arms
into your hands
and out your fingertips
Feel how much you’ve been gripping
without realizing
Feel how much you’re allowed to release
Let this warmth move into your hips
Your thighs
Your knees and calves
Down to the soles of your feet
Anything you’ve been carrying
Anything sticky or dense or borrowed
can flow right out
into the earth
into the light
into release
This isn’t about rejecting
or judging
It’s about remembering
what’s yours
and what isn’t
You can return things with love
Even if no one sees it
Even if no one understands
Your body knows what is yours to hold
And what is not
Now take a soft breath into your heart
And say inwardly:
“I lay it down now.”
Say it again, if it feels right:
“I lay it down now.”
This could be emotion
Expectation
Responsibility
Energy from others
Old versions of you
Whatever it is, let it soften
Let it slip away
You don’t need it here
You never did
Now feel your body
not empty
but clear
Feel what’s left
The lightness
The space
The truth
You’re still here
You’re still whole
But now you’re breathing only in your own energy
your own rhythm
your own presence
Bask in this feeling
This space
This clarity
Let your body memorize this
Let your nervous system feel the exhale
You are not here to carry it all
You are not here to fix or hold or absorb
You are here to be
And you are enough
Let yourself stay in this light
as long as you need
And when you’re ready
begin to gently come back
Bring your awareness to your breath
Wiggle your fingers and toes
Stretch if it feels good
And carry this lightness
this truth
into whatever comes next
You don’t have to carry it all
You never did
You are allowed to return to yourself
again and again
Inner Voice Prompts
Ask from the body, not the mind.
A few gentle questions:
What am I holding that isn’t mine?
How can I gently return that energy?
What does my body feel like without the weight?
What part of me is ready to soften?
If I didn’t have to carry this anymore, what would open up?
What’s something I can let go of, just for today?
What does my inner voice want me to know about what is mine to hold?
How would I move if I trusted that I’m allowed to feel light?
Where in my life am I trying too hard to hold it all together?
What would it feel like to be fully in my own energy?
Safe Place Journey
Step into your non-physical sanctuary.
No rules. No limits. Just you—playing.
Let yourself sink even deeper now
Let your body settle into stillness
Let your energy soften
You’ve already released so much
You’ve laid down what was never yours to carry
And now, you get to enter a space
that belongs only to you
Close your eyes if they aren’t already
And take a slow, sweet breath in
Followed by a long, sighing exhale
With every breath,
feel yourself being invited into your own sacred space
This is your Safe Place
A realm beyond time, beyond gravity, beyond limits
Here, you are the sovereign creator
You don’t have to ask permission
You don’t have to explain
You get to feel and receive and be
Now imagine yourself stepping through a glowing doorway
A soft shimmer of light that welcomes you completely
As you step through, notice how the energy shifts
The air is lighter
The sky expands endlessly
And the world that surrounds you responds to your intention
to your breath
to your essence
Let this place form around you
You don’t have to try—just allow it
Maybe you’re in a wide open field
where the wind whispers joy
Maybe you’re floating in starlight
Or resting on soft moss beneath a lavender sky
Everything here exists for you
Everything here reflects what’s possible
when you no longer carry the weight of the world
Let your body move if it wants to
Stretch
Lie down
Float
Dance
Gravity doesn’t apply here unless you want it to
You can walk on clouds
Swim through moonlight
Paint the sky with your thoughts
Whatever you imagine becomes real instantly
Because here, you are the dreamer
and the dream
If something wants to appear—let it
A person
An object
A symbol
A sound
There’s no right answer
Only resonance
What does peace feel like in this space?
What does joy feel like?
What does you feel like
when no one is asking you to be anything else?
Let yourself savor that feeling
Let it fill your cells
Let it expand beyond your skin
This is you
Unburdened
Unrushed
Unbound
If a version of you wants to appear—
One who already lives from this space of lightness—
Let them show you how they move
how they breathe
how they receive
You don’t need to chase that version of you
You are them
You’re just remembering
Take a few more moments
to rest in this energy
To witness the beauty of your own inner world
Let yourself feel how safe it is
how easeful
how natural
This place is always here
You can return to it at any time
And every time you do,
you remember more of who you really are
Now slowly
Gently
Begin to come back
Bring the energy with you
Let it blend into your breath
into your heart
into your hands
Wiggle your fingers
Roll your shoulders
Stretch if you need to
And when you’re ready
Open your eyes
Knowing that the weight has been released
And what remains
is yours
is sacred
and is enough
